Auren- Azgeda was born many generations ago, at first it was a group of only a 3 or 4, only a few believed in the ways the leader set forth, but soon, as advancements were made and children were born, it quickly bloomed. The original leader, Auren, was a creative Cattle Dog mix; because of her the group began to develop new hunting techniques and new raiding tactics. Weapons and armor were not thought of at first, but poisons and healing, they were highly regarded and used heavily under the leadership of Auren. In their first leaders lifetime, it was she who developed a religious conscious, beginning to celebrate certain seasons, certain things. Marriage was celebrated and danced over, Winter was celebrated through Kries, where as Spring was celebrated by Koleda.
Slowly, the Deities and their beliefs shifted from simple celebration to actual believing. The Deities became very highly regarded and revered. Traitors were not treated so harshly, not by Auren, they were merely cast out, shunned and told to never return. This quickly presented a problem as their own tactics were used against them by small gangs and packs. Auren was well into her years by this point and was, unfortunately killed. With Azgeda in chaos it was a child that did not belong to Auren, that began to show signs of leadership, but most curiously, this rambunctious child began to calm down, to behave in ways Auren had- though not entirely.
Arrow-
Arrow, a mere child, was placed in control of Azgeda, perhaps it was crazy but the pack believed that it was the doing of their Deities, placing bits and pieces of Auren into Arrow. Under the child’s leadership they saw, at first, many failures as she attempted to work through what would work and what wouldn’t, being so young and naïve. It was Arrow that had the beginings of engineers construct what would eventually become armor, at first it was merely a tough bear hide that draped over a Warriors torso. It was crude and unorthodox and that was why it worked- long enough for Arrow to reach her second year of life and her second year of education.
The first real order she gave as a respected commander came after a battle in which she led with their bear hide protecting them. They came back victorious, if a bit wounded. Their armor came back shredded, their own hides torn into, but not nearly as bad as before. The order she gave was to train all children heavily in the art of war, in the art of strategy. They would no long wait until their first year to be trained; they would train from three months of age to become Warriors. At this time in Azgeda, there was not test to become a member, no challenge for the trained youth; they simply became integrated into the Tribe.
Ezrew- In the death of Arrow through battle, it was Ezrew they believed the Deities transferred leadership to. Ezrew did not go through the learning phase her former leader had. When she took command, she was ready. It was Ezrew, in a fit of rage over a traitor that had the traitor tied to a tree with vines that would become ropes in the near future. It was she that made the ceremony of torturing traitors and making them swim till they drowned in the pulling tide. Even after her death, this ceremony would remain intact- because it worked. Traitors became few and far in between.
Ezrew was hard on the Tribe, she expected the best from her family, they trained hard and became skilled Warriors, skilled craftsmen. More efficient armor was developed, using teeth from predator skulls to pin the hide of animals together to make efficient armor. Quills from porcupine were used as spikes on the shoulder armor. As Warriors they learned to fight as a team rather then one on one. For the first time since the creation of Azgeda, the Tribe saw peace where no one challenged them.
Esca— Under Esca things were peaceful, largely due to Ezrew’s command, but Esca allowed peace to continue, raids were few and largely non existent as they weren’t needed. Azgeda was not dependent of the city, they did all their own hunting, their advancements were slow during Esca’s rule, because she felt they were advanced enough. The pack held celebrations regularly, and few in the name of Kries, they had no wars and so their need to worship and praise their Deity of Wrath was unnecessary. It was because Esca became comfortable with peace that near the end of her leadership, a traitor slipped into the fold.
